Product Description

This book contains photographs taken by Alexander Bondar in Warsaw between 2014-2015.

"On March 20, 2015, in Warsaw, the solar eclipse peaked at 10:56 local time. This was the last total solar eclipse visible in Europe until 2026. At that time, I had been living in Warsaw for six months, with another six months of my stay still ahead of me.
I lived on Ogrodowa Street, which was the edge of the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. Almost on every corner, there was a plaque describing how many people had been shot there by the Nazis. The winter was eerily still, with a temperature of +5 degrees Celsius and low-hanging, lead-colored clouds touching the tops of the shiny new skyscrapers. Summer was quiet and short. Autumn was clear and sad."
