Composed of a series of odes to the author’s friends accompanied by personal photographs, SIX PEOPLE I MISS IN AMERICA is an exploration of longing, emotional distance, gratitude, and the potential for futility in gratitude’s expression. Stemming from a desire to bare fully the emotional weight of displacement from one’s home, this zine unflinchingly captures the rather un-poetic, very human side of moving away: simple pining, uncertainty for the future, and regret for the past.
