Woher kommen die wilden Hühner?

To show girls in their search for their own identity - in a familiar environment, a protected space - is Susanne M. Winterling's theme in these photographic works. For several weeks she accompanied girls in homework supervision at the Pestalozzi elementary school in Gerlingen and recorded their work together in sensitive portraits. In doing so, she succeeded in expressing the simultaneity of the slowly emerging awareness of her own femininity, naive girlhood and the search for cultural affiliation in impressive images.

The catalog was created as part of the exhibition with the same name in the Gerlingen City Museum from September 16 to October 3, 2007.
