Product Description

Hymnos by Claudia Radulescu is a sound installation that was presented in 1999 in a park in the Antwerp region that was experiencing the rise of the extreme right. The melody, composed by Michel Hatzigeorgiou, draws on national anthems and symphonic themes, tinged with rebetiko. In 2020, it was revived in Elisabeth Park, Bastogne, during her solo show at the city’s contemporary art center, the Orangerie. Broadcast over six months, the sound settled into the landscape and began to resonate with the city. On 12 September 2025, for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Claudia decides to gift the work to Bastogne. A vinyl release brings together the original recordings and new interpretations by musicians connected to moli del tro and local residents. Hymnos is a permanent work, an anthem offered to the community.
