36 artists bring together their visions of Deserts, Mirages & Oases.

Deserts are 33% of our planet’s surface area. Hot and ice cold, huge and small, rocky and sand... These wastelands are usually something of an opposite to life when we think about them. And considering the global warming and other effects of the antropocene, it's likely that there will be even more deserts quite soon. Yet, organic life is probably the most flexible thing in the universe and it adapted to live in the deserts ages ago. So, probably humans will have to do that too. A new oases are coming, a new modes of existence probably too – will it be living under the surface, while heat of the sand is converted into electrical power? Or maybe the whole cities hiding in the shade or Grand Canyon? Should we cover deserts with fields of solar panels or terraform them, bringing water and making them bloom? Right now deserts are mostly associated with oil – the black blood of our civilization, the reason of why it developed but also the source of many troubles right now. Do deserts hide some new opportunities for better future? Let's explore and find out!
