Product Description

In their conceptual work "Photographers in Conflict", the two artists Gian-Reto Gredig and Goran Galić question those protagonists whose pictures from conflict and disaster areas go around the world every day. In order to analyse the asymmetrical (power) relationship between the image producer and the depicted, the photojournalists were staged and photographed in the style of aristocratic portraits of rulers and interviewed in front of the camera according to a fixed catalogue of questions. With this work, created in 2006 during the photojournalism festival "Visa pour l'Image" in Perpignan, Galić and Gredig examine the problem of constructing reality with the media of photography and video.
