Herman Daled is an exceptional collector. His collection, acquired in 2011 by the MoMA in New York, includes principal works of the conceptual movement that emerged in the 60s. It features the most important collection of pieces by Marcel Broodthaers as well as historically important pieces by Daniel Buren, Niele Toroni, On Kawara, Dan Graham, Sol LeWitt and others. On a journey from Brussels to New York, the Belgian collector looks back on his past and that of an aesthetic movement that marked the second half of the twentieth century. The collection that didn't exist won the Grand Prize at the international Festival of Films on Art in Montreal in 2016.

Herman Daled est un collectionneur à part. Sa collection acquise en 2011 par le MoMA de New York comprend des pièces maîtresses du mouvement conceptuel qui émerge dans les années 60. On y trouve la plus importante collection d’œuvres de Marcel Broodthaers ainsi que des œuvres historiques de Daniel Buren, Niele Toroni, On Kawara, Dan Graham, Sol LeWitt et d’autres. Dans un voyage de Bruxelles à New York, le collectionneur belge se retourne sur son passé et celui d’un courant esthétique qui a marqué la deuxième moitié du XXe siècle. Dans ce film, Joachim Olender choisit de tendre un miroir entre un homme, un courant et une philosophie.
