How soon is now?
The unexpected chance shows up, the serendipitous event materialises, and life blossoms suddenly and makes itself felt, it is happening here and now, and they finally share the present, they are together under the same sun, they are shaped by the same light, and the two pictures that tell this moment are bound together to make them one and the same.

This is how Yuliya and Lesha's dialogue ends.

Out of my window in Almaty.

This is how it begins, with the same words and the same gaze out of their room's windows. A look at a distant world that lays behind a glass.

In between, their intimate conversation through images ebbs and flows driven by color and shapes, light and shadows, spoken in a voice so soft that you need to listen carefully if you want to make sense of the words beyond the small talk and the jokes, and see what hides in the shadows, to grasp the solitude, the emptiness, the silence that informs all the work and the questions that run through it.

How does it feel to live in an increasingly atomised society in an increasingly artificial world? Is closeness ever attainable? Is it even possible to feel anything that don't sound plastic fake?
