Product Description
Zoe Crosher is an artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. Inspired by the conflation of the image and the imaginary, particularly with regard to the troubled promise of renewal and the West, Crosher walks a blurred line between fantasy, reality, image and disappearance. Her work has been exhibited at MoMA, LACMA, The Dallas Contemporary and The California Museum of Photography, and she was recently co-awarded the 2015 Smithsonian Ingenuity of the Year Award in the Visual Arts (with Shamim M. Momim).
LA LIKE: Transgressing The Pacific photographically documents “sites of disappearance,” both real and imagined, that took place along the edge of the Pacific. The book includes essays on her work by Courtney Finn, Steffie Nelson, David Ulin, and Catherine G. Wagley, as well as excerpts by Eve Babitz.
