ilinx No. 2: Mimesen asks about the techniques, agents and methods that are used where similarities are produced - be it in artistic, biological, technical or scientific processes. At least four dimensions are intertwined: imitation as a psychological and theatrical capacity and social activity; "imitation of nature" as an aesthetic postulate and technical programme; those epistemological procedures that Michel Foucault has called the "episteme of similarity"; and, last but not least, the arts of transformation of animals and humans.
