Chanting Down Babylon

In 1992, a cargo plane operated by the Israeli airline El Al crashed into a residential complex in Amsterdam's Bijlmermeer outskirts shortly after taking off from Schiphol Airport, dividing the building in two. For the exhibition and the book, Dani Gal visited residents of Beijlmermeer and the journalist Vincent Dekker to enter into a dialogue with them about the plane crash and everyday life in the renovated building complex.

Based on extensive research based on atmospheres and subjective worlds of experience and memory, the book provides an overview of the most diverse events and stories that are woven into a network of abstract and formal connections.
