After Exposure – A Cyclopedia of Broken Cameras

The book is a homage to Christer Andersson, a local camera repairman in Malmö, Sweden. After sixty years in the industry he closed his workshop and left behind a scrap depot that eventually ended up in my home. After Exposure – A Cyclopedia of Broken Cameras is an archaeological survey of these remains. The book takes a close look at a tool that is usually looking at us. On the way to the dump, the camera wrecks have overnighted in this book.

The essay is written by Dan Jönsson, grappling with the existential conundrum of our civilization’s ever more problematic metabolism.
