Braque's Regal

“Braque’s Regal” is an artist’s book that does not present itself as an ordered archive, but rather as an open space of images and thought in which different layers are constantly shifting. Angela Grasser works with the principle of multilayeredness: drawing meets photography, interior space meets exterior space, figure meets form, language meets image. This gives rise to a continuous interplay that recalls the multiperspectival strategies of Cubism—yet not as an art-historical illustration, but as a contemporary, autonomous visual practice.
