Product Description

In KEY: Color and Shape, color, form, and movement, each hitherto conceived to be continuums of the visual world, are turned into pages in a book and presented as individual “keys.” Perceptual constancy causes us to see objects in a consistent manner and maintain a balance in recognition even amid numerous changes in our daily lives. To me, this constancy is also an involuntary sensation that leads me to rely on things outside of myself as I remember them and coexist with them. Each black shape embodies the potentials of a “key” and is composed like a pressed flower, which evokes a different sense of depth than photographs.

This book has been published in the occasion of the exhibition Homeostasis(Oct.13-Nov.6, 2021), ONEROOM, Seoul; with the support of the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture.
