Art Viewer Ads

In May 2019, JIR SANDEL purchased a six-month subscription for a banner on the website artviewer.org and decided to use it as an exhibition space. The image on display was a selfie taken by the four JIR SANDEL members and changed weekly. In November 2019, JIR SANDEL renewed the subscription and invited twenty-four artists to take part in the exhibition with the same principle of one selfie per week. The present book collects one screenshot for each of the forty-eight selfies as seen on Art Viewer from May 2019 to April 2020.

JIR SANDEL is an exhibition platform founded in 2016 in Copenhagen by artists Magnus Frederik Clausen and Mads Lindberg. In 2018 curator/writer Paola Paleari and artist Rasmus Høj Mygind joined the team. JIR SANDEL focuses on the exploration of alternative ways of exhibition-making and the investigation of existing structures within the art world. It operates both locally and internationally.
