AIR Traces

AIR Traces is a visual representation of the inspiration and work process of 56 artists and curators, which forms the essence of a residency. In addition, AIR Traces consist of three texts by Alan Quireyns, Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez and Johan Pousette. The publication is designed by Sara De Bondt Studio. The book exists out of four different covers, drawings of the facade of the lock-keeper's house by: Nick Andrews, Bjorn De Buck, Ella de Burca and Driessen-Meersman-Thomaes Architects.

AIR Traces geeft het inspiratie- en procistieproces, de essentie van een residentie, beeldend weer. Aan 56 kunstenaars en curatoren werd gevraagd om elk twee beelden te sturen: één van hun huidige werkplaats en één die refereert aan de residentieperiode in AIR Antwerpen. ze zonden veel meer in dan gevraagd. Daardoor is Ala Traces een unieke collectie geworden van sporen, getuigenissen, kunstwerken, projecian, herinneringen en scuve.rs. Ze tonen hoe invloeden en indrukken blijven hangen in de herinnering en in het werk. En dat is precies wat deze residentie aanbiedt: de mogelijkheid om op zoek te gean raar dat speciale element, dat gegeven waarin een kiem van nieuw werk ontstaat, een inzicht in het oeuvre, een stap vooruit. Bovendien bevat AlP Traces drie teksten van Natasa Petresin-Bachelez, Johan Pousette en Alan Quireyns, die beschrijven wat een residentie is, hoe ze wordt ingevuld en waarom ze zo noodzakelijk is.

AIR Traces is a visual representation of the inspiration and work process, R which forms the essence of a residency. 56 artists and curators were asked to each send in two pictures: a picture of their current workplace, and a picture referring to their residency period in AIR Antwerpen.
We received a lot more than we had asked for, and this resulted in a unique collection of traces, testimonies, artworks, projents, memories and seuvenirs. They show how influences and impressions linger in both the mind and the work. And that is exactly what this residency offers: the opportunity to search for that special element, that detail that contains the seed of a new work, an insight into the oeuvre, a step forward. In addition, AIR Traces consists of three texts y Natasa Petresin-Bachelez, Johan Pousette and Alan Quireyns that attempt to present the phenomenon of the residency, what kind of work is really conducted there and what the necessity of it is.
