Absence

ABSENCE was triggered by Haleakala’s expansive beauty. This quiet crater above the clouds where one can peak how earth was like in the absence of modern civilization. ABSENCE had a long gestation period, spanning many countries, long drives and hikes. Some trips ended up without any pictures being taken.

While the landscapes in this book are already majestic in themselves, it was the patient wait for the sun and the clouds to combine in a millisecond of time that created these unrepeatable images.

This book honors the sun, the earth and the elements.
