Sie stehen in den Regalen bei “Printed Matter” in New York ebenso wie bei “Motto” und “pro qm” in Berlin. Man sieht sie bei “The Book” in Seoul und gleicherma\u00dfen bei “Jura Books” in Sydney: B\u00fccher mit einer winzigen Auflage sind rund um den Globus pr\u00e4sent. Gegenw\u00e4rtig entsteht ein Netz von kleinen Verlagen, die relativ autark und in zunehmendem Ma\u00dfe auch international publizieren. Die “kreative Klasse” — frei arbeitende Autoren, Grafik-Designer und K\u00fcnstler — hat das Buch als B\u00fchne kollektiver Wissensproduktionen f\u00fcr sich entdeckt. Neue Stilistiken des B\u00fcchermachens zeichnen sich ab; neue Formen wie Text, Bild und Design ineinander greifen. — Das eint\u00e4gige Treffen “It’s a Book, It’s a Stage, It’s a Public Place”, das der Leipziger Verlag Spector Books zusammen mit dem Centraltheater organisiert, versteht sich als ein Knotenpunkt in diesem internationalen Netz.<\/p>\n

Currently, a network of small publishers is in the process of formation, publishing fairly autonomously and increasingly on an international scale. The “creative class” — independent authors, graphic designers and artists — has discovered the book as its stage of collective knowledge production. New book making stylistics are becoming visible; new forms to interrelate text, image and design. — The one-day meeting “It’s a Book, It’s a Stage, It’s a Public Place”, organised by the Leipzig publishing house Spector Books in collaboration with the Centraltheater, understands itself as a nodal point in this international network.<\/p>\n
