..the book is named after Franka a black chicken, born on the east side of the Atlantic ocean. She was found in a basket, decorated with flowers, coins, personal objects and candles, by a junky who took action by taking her with him - and by that rescuing her from being sacrificed for a reason that remains unknown.
She was tremendously traumatised when she arrived, together with the junky (who is also a thief who cares for flowers and animals) in Rua dos Caldeireiros 123 (Porto, Portugal). It was then, during her recovery, that she discovered her passion for art (perhaps also due to the fact that she found herself surrounded by artists who warmly welcomed and supported her at their space).
Only a few months after her arrival she curated her first show in Uma Certa Falta de Coerência (A Certain Lack of Coherence), an artist run space in Porto, before she decided to move on to the mountain of Penha, where she then got offered a position as the co-director of The Penha School of Art and Politics.
