That's Not Me

That’s Not Me presents snap­shots taken between 2001 and 2009 of the artist Nuri Koer­fer on hol­i­day and in her home coun­try, Switzer­land. While Koer­fer embod­ies the role of model, her friends and fam­ily act as pho­to­graph­ers, taking pictures of Koerfer posing with the dead animals, or the skeletons of dead animals, that she has found along her walks, playfully breathing life into each cada­ver.

The idea for That's Not Me came about when Koerfer was in China, where she lived and worked for six months in con­junc­tion with a schol­ar­ship. It's her first excur­sion into pho­to­graphy, and printed in an edition of 500 hand-numbered copies.
